a dream come true...

For many years I have watched one of my best friends Jasmine Watson a very talented runner run in the new Plymouth and Taranaki cross country. I on the other hand sit and watch on the sideline, and always wanted to try and run it.

It all started at the Frankley school cross country. Nervous little me walked to the starting line. Not knowing if I would even get near qualifying for the New Plymouth cross country. It did not start out as plan. I didn't even hear the ready set go and had to sprint to catch up with the group. that tyred me out so much. in the farm, so many people stopped and started walking. part of me wanted to the same but the other told me to keep on going. an annoying little twig had to get in the way crack, I hopped to the finish line and came 6 place.

my next step was the new Plymouth which I ran last year but didn't do as well as I had hoped. there were about 140 people in my race. At 2 and a half kay. Jasmine came first place in Frankley cross country and was coming as well. As the man shouted go many thoughts came into my mind. will I fall and break my leg or will I fall and break my arm. I didn't don't worry. I zoomed past the field and into the farm. puffing and sweating, I felt my legs wanting to give in. I came 56 place.

Next step was the Taranaki's. I had to race with 500 people, Me jasmine Sarah and Freya all went. butterflies were forming in my tummy. I felt like a living swan plant. I was so untrained and wasn't ready when the gun went off.  I was only thinking about one thing. DON'T come last. All the mud was crazy. I hope it was mud. We legs were springing every wear. as I fell to the ground face first. All I think of is the smell. Come on Grace you can do this I say. I did a came 105 out 500.
